Tri Mo Shawarma Co -The grudge is still on

long over due review...
I dragged my ex bf to try this famous hole in the wall shawarma place that I have been hearing from some people I used to know. They claimed that this is THE BEST shawarma place ever- lesson learned: never take a valid affirmation to people who adores VIKINGS buffet and until now thinks J.co is the best thing that happened to donuts.

do I hate it? not really but if you're in a budget and you're at the far end of the civilization this is perfect for you.

My tip: To all residing in Makati or Alabang going here is a bit of a challenge. Commonwealth is your best route after C5 and after that just ask for direction, any local bystander or Fatima student knows this place.

My taste: For the price, its a best buy. Dont expect any difference from your kanto shawarma coz you're getting what you paid for. My bf is keen on beef and he said that the beef shawarma was actually carabao's meat- talk about misleading.

Recovery Food -Your neighborhood after party comfort

I was eyeing this quaint industrial looking restaurant every time I drive thru for my late night caffeine at Starbucks in BCG.

Since I am always on unstarted diet, and their menu are mostly carbos and seeing their hefty servings I always stir away from it.

However one late night, after 6 hours of continued movie marathon, MAD HUNGRY and on limited budget, I said to my self "its time... Its time for #recoveryfood " hahaha

My tip:

Bring your car if you must but on weekends esp after party hours good luck... @$*& pay parking.

Its a humble cozy restaurant, other word- limited seats!!! You can dine al fresco (seats only 3- 5 persons) or in your car though.

You can choose your egg, your rice and between regualr (this is big enough believe me) and full recovery (this is perfect to those who haven't eaten a decent meal in a weeks) haha.

Friendly owner, staff and cooks... staff's minus point- SLOW!!! tsk

My say:

Amadobo. regular php180

If you are looking for an oily, salty, garlicky, close to fried adobo... look somewhere else.

Because what hey have are BIG chunks of pure tender pork meat, slow cooked with equal balance of vinegar, soy sauce and just a hint of garlic. This old fashion bad boy comes with your choice of egg and a sad side of ensalada.

Happy Beef Rice php185

This reminds me of braised beef of Chowking, minus the salty thick sauce and carrots.

Plus points. Tender beef meat, they never hold the 'litid'- i like the most, not too salty and the hefty amount of the bit size beef... now that is a big boy meal.
Didnt come with egg and ensalada though... bat kaya?

***SECOND VISIT***

Tapa de Morning. Full Recovery php260

Some kinna plus points:
tender BEEF.
dry- I hate tapa with thick sauce.
fried till the ends are crispy
NOT SHREDDED- I don't get why some tapa are like adobo flakes.

My love: Porkqua Curry: Full recovery php220
Frist of all I LOVE CURRY...
Tender oh so sweet big chunks of fried pork.
Generous serving of curry sauce.
And did I mention I LOVE CURRY.
Not spicy.
This meal did not come with egg and ensalada... but no worries my love, I LOVE YOU just the way you are hahah

Its like Filipino version of bacon.
Thinly sliced flour coated (for ze crunch) pork.
Bland nothing special- blah!

Tapa de Morning. Full Recovery php260

Verdict: I don't like the tapa... well I really dont like tapsilog anyway but their tapa was sweet... kinna salty with the faint hint of garlic.

OMG next to watermelon juice this is my next fave... Dalandan juice - love love

condiments

Happy Beef Arroz Caldo: Its thick, its savory, garlic-ky and those chucks of beef really hit the spot.

My Mami: Have you tried Wai Ying Beef Mami? thats it but this is with cilantro... a plus for me.

Antonios Tagaytay- Life is sweet

I am gonna keep this short, clean, crisp and classy just our lovely dinner at Antonio's.

My tip:

Make reservation.

Freshly baked (pandesal?) with butter- OK

Anonio’s Organic Mesclun Salad, Bleu d’Auvergne Crumbled, Glazed Walnuts, Dried Currants & Cranberries with Raspberry Vinaigrette and drizzled with Basil Oil
Antonios house salad- LOVE IT!!!

Pumpkin soup- Thick, frothy and ex BF LOVES IT- he made me sure I put in that he likes it haha.

Antonio’s Trio- Medium rare- perfect.

Duo of Roasted Duck Breast and Squab- Blah! I regret not ordering Duck Leg Confit, Orange T.T

Dark Chocolate Soufflè with Cardamom Crème Anglaise- I am waiting for a chocolate kick... did not happened :(

Felchlin Maracaibo Chocolate Terrine with Double Ice Cream & Roasted Pistachio- I LIKED IT. Jeff's kinna confused what it was... hehe

Isaw Haus- Because you gotta try it

In line with the Eid al-Fitr, we too had a feast, feast of breaking our mundane BCG eat out and head to Taytay to try the most hailed isaw of all "northies" - isaw from #IsawHaus.

My Tip:

1. Bring your dirty car and you'll be hitting 2 birds at 1 stone. At the back, is a 5 station car wash. Talk about convenience.
2. Parking... Be creative.
3. Near C5- woot!

My Taste:

Yang chow fried rice- generous in serving, toppings and shrimp pieces. This reminds me of my home made yang chow rice. Very comforting.

The grill:

Isaw na manok and baboy: juicy hot out of the grill yumminess.
Bitukang baboy: juicy... Blah!
Tenga nang baboy: juicy big fatty servings. Oink

Dont expect anything more from your local ihawihawan because there were nothing really much of a difference except for the distinct orange color and the mixes bbQ sauce plus ketchup taste Isaw Haus bbqs were natural in color freshly grilled so the juice are locked in during the grill ergo when you take a bite ohhh lala

Pancit mixed (bihon and canton)- blah! Sure the servings were huge plus the 4pcs gigantic lechon kawali toppings were really appreciated but thats it... Vegetables were really limited and its more on quantity than quality.

***NO IMAGE***

Milk tea: imagine condensed milk mixed with little tea plus sago... Tsk tsk.-

My Say: Foods were ok and its a clean place so I'll say... give it a try.

Ps.

Blowfly infested!!! Not just one but plenty more so ALOT! An occasional Baygon spray will surely keep those pesky blowfly away unfortunately it will blow your appetite too :(

NBA Cafe Manila- Fancy Schmancy.

What more overrated than a fancy sports bar!?#NBACafeManila.

To give justice to it, the place is neat and pleasant unlike other sports bar which are crowded, smelly and loud. NBA Cafe Manila ace the over all ambiance, classy, smoke free, and surprisingly quiet. The interior is like of a regular fine dining restaurant but way cooler, the NBA memorabilia brings a museum-y feel to it moreover the staff were efficient and nice.

However, everything stops being pleasant and classy when it comes to their food. Everything we ordered was either dry or bland.

My Tip:
Don't bring your BF(ex-bf) if you want quality time, those HD flat screen TV at every corner plus the BIG one at the entrance made it hard to maintain a conversation more so focus on the food.

You can take pictures of the place even of you are not dining just ask the front desk politely.

May taste:

Grilled chicken breast
(with vegetable medley, provolone cheese and avocado salsa)
- dry dry dry chicken was bland, I did not taste the avocado salsa it was like alfalfa infested burger :(

Cheese burger
(topped with gruyere cheese, lettuce tomatoes, onions, slice dill pickled and truffle oil)
- We ordered medium rare for the patty. I imagined the truffle oil over powering the burger taste but when I took a bite... Blah! Not only the patty was "malansa" but again I did not taste the truffle oil. Taste like your ordinary BIG MAC.

Bacon wrapped
(with grilled onions, jalapeños, bell peppers, mustard, ketchup, and Los Angeles inspired salsa roja)
- good thing: I love hotdogs! Their hotdog was juicy and I worship the bacon wrapped hotdogs.
Bad thing: the bun ruin it all!!! Dry and tasted cheap like your ordinary kanto bakery hotdog bun but worse because it was too hard to chew :(

***NBA CAFE MANILA REVISITED***

I decided to give it another try because I cant really judge NBA Cafe for just a few orders so we force and blackmailed Albert to treat us hehe love you fwend :)

Chicago style
(with yellow mustard, chopped onions, tomato, peppers, and sweet pickle relish)
- its a unique balance of sweet salty and savory but again... The bun ruin everything!!!

Creamy Macaroni and cheese
- its a kids meal expect small serving and sweet-salty taste.

Fries- ordinary.

Ground turkey
with cranberry chutney and Swiss cheese)
- whats worst than the the grilled chicken breast. Ground turkey!!
From its bread to its sauce: failed!
The turkey was unexpectedly juicy and tasty.

3 cheese
(mozzarella, cheddar, and blue cheese)
- crust was ok, 3 cheeses was ok yeah over all its was just PLAIN OK.
My say:
Battle ain't over yet! Maybe just maybe I haven't ordered their best food yet. Perfect for guys, if you have money to waste and wants to treat your BF this is the NEXT best thing... I mean next best place :)
